I’ve been reorganizing my schedule to better fit my needs these last couple of months. Old processes have been completely thrown out. The tension of what wasn’t working is finally being replaced with what is.
As a beautiful offering to those who choose to support me here, I will be providing a monthly tarot offering. I’ve been coming to the cards for over 6 years now. The cards fuel me with visual reminders of the cyclical nature that is life. I often come to my cards when I’m feeling wavering in my steps. I don’t see tarot as providing answers. I see tarot as a tool for providing tangible questions to sit with.
The tarot has a way of being incredibly subjective, so I encourage you to look at the card(s) and interpret your own ideas about what they might mean to you. I will share insights as to how these cards show up for me in my own practice.
If you have a deck, I’d love for this to be a place to pull your’s out too. I want this offering to feel like a space that we can collectively come with insights, with questions, and with collective reckonings. I have a feeling this offering will unfold in the ways that it wants to from month-to-month.
The first card that came through is: The Wheel of Fortune
The Wheel of Fortune is a card of the major arcana. The major arcana in the tarot is a series of cards with big overarching themes. They tend to hang around for a while. I find that when I pull a card of the major arcana it stays with me for a menstrual/moon cycle or season or longer.
The Wheel of Fortune comes through as a card that is cyclical. It reminds me that where I direct my energy is what will be nourished. The wheel of fortune often reminds me to slow down, look up, and notice what is working for me. The wheel of fortune asks me to notice what isn’t working for me either.
The Wheel of Fortune has a way of showing up when something is rounding out. It comes through with the number 10. The number 10 is often seen as a completion card in the minor arcana. It allows us to see the sun peaking through the storm clouds of defeat. It allows us to set down the weight and ask for a hand. The 10 is noticing where the blessings have culminated, where the hands meet in reciprocity, and how we sit with the bountiful harvest.
The number 10 has a way of telling me that something is done. It is up to me to decide how I want to move forward. The Wheel of Fortune reminds that we keep the wheels turning if we so choose.
The wheel in this particular deck has nods to all elements. It recognizes that all elements are needed to create, integrate, and complete a cycle. These elements include: earth, fire, water, and air. If we focus our attention too readily in one space, something else may be left to the wayside.
This card is clarified by: Justice
The justice card is one that quite frankly isn’t my favorite. It feels hard for me because it comes through as systems. I don’t always like systems or even use them. I am reminded that systems are often put in place to instill power. I am reminded that systems are often put in place to instill useful boundaries.
Justice comes through to remind me to notice what systems strengthen my practice and what systems hinder them.
Justice is associated with the number 11. The number 1 in the minor arcana is the beginning. It’s the ace card. It’s a divine offering from within the cloud saying “please notice me! I want you to take this!” The ace is not one to pass up, however I often find that it comes from an unexpected source. It’s a new beginning because it’s one that I haven’t taken before. It’s a path uncharted that reminds me to step outside of what I’ve known for what actually is presenting as a more easeful route.
This gracious offering can only be found when I’ve given myself spaciousness to notice what the offering even is. It means that if I’m calling in a new route, then I must hold myself accountable to allow my actions to follow suit. We cannot will a new path into existence; we must take the steps towards it as well.
Finally, Justice card is associated with the the element of air. The element of air is seen as communication, or lack thereof. I am reminded of the strength of self-advocacy with Justice. I am reminded that my words have a great deal of power with Justice. I am reminded to show up here with y’all through my words with Justice. I am able to tilt the scales in my favor if I consistently notice where my words can be used in service of this practice.
Justice reminds me that there’s accountability in aligning our words and our actions.
Where is a cycle completing?
Is there a cycle I’d like to start again?
Is there a cycle I don’t want to pick up again?
Is there a process that can be made easier?
What if I picked up practice just for myself?
What if I asked for help with that hard thing next go round?
If you’d like to book a private session with me, I have weekly appts available. This is a 45-minute container where we may use the cards to find additional support for you specifically. These sessions are sliding scale. If you have any questions about my practice or pricing, please send me an email.
Sincerely,
