I’d like to give a HUGE thank you to those who upgraded your free subscriptions to paid. This is a really big deal for me and my practice. If you’d like to read about my upgraded offerings, you may find that here. If you’d like to upgrade your subscription to $6 a month, you may do that below.
As I sink into this new moon, I’m reminded to tap into the spaces of my practice that I trust. As I notice the spaces I still have yet to be, I’m reminded of just how far I’ve come. Perhaps sharing some of these spaces with you will allow you to give yourself some credit for just how far you’ve come in your own practice.
I set the intention to try some morning trails with Bilbo this week. I can’t say I’m not tired and grumpy while leaving the house with an energetic pup, but getting to a quiet trail and beginning the day this way has been magical so far. It’s hard work. It takes a lot of discipline for me. And yet, it’s structure that’s supportive for me.
Also y’all, I have a dog. Wow!
I set out to take on the yard in my shared house space a little over a year and a half ago. I do not “own” this land; I am a renter. My practice often brings me to the land to meet my anger. My practice brings me to the land for reciprocity. My practice brings me to the land as a means of imagining new possibilities.
I went to a wonderful queer farm meetup with some friends that ignited the desire to dig in further. Alice is now helping me with the foundation of the land so that we may begin farming in the front yard. It’s…very exciting. We are able to accomplish twice as much this way. We are able to redefine land work in a way that is sustainable and supportive for us 🐐
Two years ago I learned how to quilt because of quilt class. Now, I’m working on my 5th quilt for raffle that is still open! I was able to bring some of these pieces to my sister’s school and talk about how quilting is magic. We talked about community and how gardens fuel our relationships. We talked about what we saw in the quilts including “witches’ houses and cornfields and birds and mushrooms.” We talked about how the stories of many are shared through quilting.
As I continue to reflect on the long winding road it’s been to get here, I offer these questions as a means of giving yourself support for the journey you may also be on.
What in my life nourishes me?
How might I call in more ease for myself?
What would it feel like to set an old practice down?
What would it feel like to weave a new practice in?
Where might I notice the seeds I have planted of season’s past?
Where might I plant new seeds of intention in preparation for cooler months?
I trust myself.
I trust myself in my body.
I trust myself to meet the land.
I trust myself to learn with Bilbo.
I trust myself to nourish myself in the ways I need.
I trust myself to speak my needs.
I trust myself to instill boundaries.
I trust myself to fail.
I trust myself to start again.
I trust myself to take my time.
I trust myself.
Thank you so much for being here. I have made this post public. Moving forward, I will start to parcel through which posts are shared outwardly and what gets shared with those who are now paid subscribers. If you’d like to upgrade your free subscription, there is an entire post about why this upgrade is so supportive for me. The work I am doing is slow work. It takes time. This writing helps me pay my bills.
Sincerely,
